RACHEL M. BACK APPOINTED TO TMA GROUP BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Franklin, TN – The TMA Group (Transportation Management Association) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rachel M. Back (Barge Design Solutions) to The TMA Group Board of Directors.
Dr. Janet Smith, TMA Chair, said “Throughout the history of the Transportation Management Association (TMA) we have had a very qualified and engaged board. We continue this tradition with the appointment of Rachel Back to the TMA Board. Ms. Black’s leadership and knowledge of the region will be of great benefit coupled with her interest in providing mobility options to the organization as we continue the growth of TMA’s innovative local and regional transportation solutions.”

Regarding her appointment to The TMA Board of Directors, Ms. Black states: “I am a recent graduate of the Transit Citizens Leadership Academy (TCLA), where I learned a lot about the history of transit in the greater Nashville area and the importance of improving transit for our citizens throughout the region. I am excited to join the TMA Board of Directors so that I can learn more about how I and others can improve availability of transportation for all.”
- Rachel Black is a Client Service Leader at Barge Design Solutions, serving Middle Tennessee state and local government clients in a variety of disciplines. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Miami. In 2022 Rachel moved to Tennessee from Florida with her husband Dan and children, Aaron and Maddie.
