LEYA WHITE APPOINTED TO FRANKLIN TRANSIT AUTHORITY
Franklin, TN – The Franklin Transit Authority is pleased to announce the appointment of Leya White to the Franklin Transit Authority.
John Schroer, Franklin Transit Authority Chairman, said: “We are so honored to welcome Leya White as a member of the Franklin Transit Authority. Leya’s legacy of experience in our educational sectors serving the Franklin community and beyond is such an asset to this organization. Developing and expanding Franklin’s transit solutions in an efficient and effective manner is vital to our area, as we continue meeting the city’s public transportation needs.”

Regarding her appointment to the Franklin Transit Authority, Ms. White states: “I am honored to join the Franklin Transit Authority Board. My Franklin High School adult special needs students and I have used the trolley for many years as a means to increase their independence. As a member of the Franklin Transit Authority Board, I hope to provide real world experience and support for continued service growth in Franklin.”
A Williamson County Schools professional for 33 years, Leya White is a Transitions 2 Teacher at Franklin High School. Ms. White’s class is for students in WCS who are 18-22. Her curriculum assist the students to be as independent as they can, while supporting their goals for the future. Training for adult living such as job access and functional living skills is provided. Ms. White’s students utilize the Franklin Transit services daily to participate in activities in the community. Leya is a graduate of Battle Ground Academy, with an undergraduate degree from Samford. She holds a Masters of Education (M.Ed.) degree from MTSU.
